I, the sacrifice
I, the corner to be cut
I, the empty hand.

Children Read To Shelter Cats To Soothe Them

Also good for the kids. They encourage having slow readers read to the family pets. A dog will listen to a kid read a whole book one damn sssyl-la——-ble at a time, and it will never get frustrated, or correct their pronunciation, or start playing Angry Bird because it can’t stand listening to the slowness any more. The dog will look at the kid approvingly, because, human. Human is talking. Human is interacting.

So this is a great win-win.

Sometimes it takes more than willpower, a strong cup of coffee, and nagging plot bunnies to get you to finish that novel you’re working on.

Cory Arcangel—computer programmer, composer, and artist—has compiled a collection of hilarious tweets from various aspiring writers facing the crazy ride that is writing a novel.

What does it feel like to try and create something new? How is it possible to find a space for the demands of writing a novel in a world of instant communication?

Working on My Novel is about the act of creation and the gap between the different ways we express ourselves today. Exploring the extremes of making art, from satisfaction and even euphoria to those days or nights when nothing will come, it’s the story of what it means to be a creative person, and why we keep on trying.

Can you forgive this ghost?

A ghost returns and
clothes herself in beloved
words…can you forgive?

STILL HERE!!!

posted 6 days ago

Hi  guys, I am so sorry about not being around for so many months. It’s inexcusable, but unfortunately life got in the way. University life took over my life; being sociable with my friends and trying to keep on top of assessments…oh, so many assessments…

But there’s another aspect to why I haven’t been around as much/at all. The
course I’m studying at Uni is a writing course, which means there are strict
rules and regulations related to plagiarism. This means that the poetry and
friction piece’s I’ve published on here in the past couldn’t be submitted as
coursework, which made life incredibly difficult. So I stopped putting my own work on the web so that I’d be able to submit whatever I managed to write.

But now it’s the Summer! And as I’m determined to try to keep writing, I’m
going to start posting again, and keep writing for the blessed, beautiful sake
of it. I just need to keep some of the pieces I manage to write off the web,
especially if I feel they can get a good grade next year.

So, can you guys forgive me?

RW
